It is more important than ever to mobilize and activate newcomer and immigrant communities in civic and democratic life. We have a bold vision to educate, inspire and galvanize immigrant communities to take action for social change and impact.
The Centre for Immigrants’ Civic Engagement will offer a diverse set of activities and programs that focus on civic education and leadership, voter mobilization, political literacy and challenges and opportunities for civic engagement. The centre will foster connections and promote safe spaces for inclusive dialogues. We prioritize immigrants inclusion and advancement in the civic and political landscape.
Immigrants are shaping the future of our democracy, and increasing their participation in the decision making process is very crucial and more needed than ever. Through the centre, immigrants will get involved in reforming policies, having their say in the issues that are impacting them, and building civic participation to address and tackle systemic barriers hindering their integration and advancement.
